Streisand Setup Guide on iOS

iOS has several strong clients. Here we cover Streisand (free and widely used), and at the end we also go over notes on Shadowrocket and V2Box.

Prerequisite: an Apple ID and a config link (vless://...) or a subscription link from your provider.
Step 1: Install
- Open the App Store and search for “Streisand” (developer: Arcadia Odyssey Inc.).
- Tap Get.
- If it is not available in your Apple ID region, use V2Box or FoXray.
Step 2: Add a config
Method A: Clipboard
- Copy the vless://... link.
- Open Streisand.
- Tap + and choose Import from Clipboard. Sometimes the app detects the copied config itself and offers to add it.
Method B: QR Code
- Tap + and choose Scan QR.
Method C: Subscription link
- In the add-subscription section, enter the link so the server list is downloaded.
Step 3: Connect
- Select a server.
- Turn on the connect switch.
- iOS asks once: “Allow Streisand to add VPN configurations?” → tap Allow and confirm with Face ID or your passcode.
- The VPN icon appears in the status bar.
Step 4: Test
- In Safari, open “what is my IP”.
- Run a DNS leak test (dnsleaktest.com).
Shadowrocket notes
- After purchasing and installing, copy the vless:// link and open the app; it usually offers to add it automatically.
- Select a server and tap the connect switch.
- In Shadowrocket you can create custom routing rules (Rules).
V2Box notes
- Install it from the App Store.
- On the Configs tab, add the link from the clipboard.
- In newer versions you can change the TUN settings (MTU and DNS), encrypt the config with a password and an expiry date, and transfer it.
Troubleshooting common issues
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| Connects but there is no internet | Try another server; check your internet connection and the device date. |
| An old config no longer works | If it contains allowInsecure, it is no longer supported; get a new config. |
| The VPN disconnects by itself | Turn off Low Power Mode, close the app in the background and open it again. |
| The app does not accept the config | The link must be copied completely, with no extra spaces or line breaks. |
Security notes
- Install only from the official App Store.
- Do not enter an unknown config.
- After connecting, test DNS and IPv6.
